Arrive in Lisbon where you’ll be greeted by a Uniworld representative and transferred to your hotel.

Saturday, 10/4

Today you will explore the city of Belem, where you’ll see the Belem Tower, a fortress that kept careful watch over the great navigators who left Portugal to seek their fortunes elsewhere. You will also visit the Royal Coaches Museum and the 16th century ornate Jerónimos Monastery.


Sunday, 10/5

En route from Lisbon to the Douro Queen in Porto, you’ll learn about Portugal’s third largest city on a tour of Coimbra, the birthplace to six of Portugal’s kings and home to one of the oldest universities in Europe.


Monday, 10/6

Portugal’s second largest city, Porto is known as the “city of bridges.” Today you will be guided through the medieval city center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, then on to see the Romanesque cathedral. This afternoon we sail to Bitetos and visit ancient monastery of Alpendurada.

Tuesday, 10/7

We cruise from Bitetos to Régua in the morning and in the afternoon, tour the old Episcopal city of Lamego.


Wednesday, 10/8

The small town of Pinhão is the epicenter of the Port winemaking area, and a place where the soil and climatic conditions are considered to be at their very best. With some leisure time today, you may visit the famous Wine Academy at the Vintage House.


Thursday, 10/9

We dock in Vega de Terrón, Spain in the morning, and from here, you’ll travel to Salamanca, one of the best preserved medieval cities in Spain. After a typical Spanish lunch at one of the city’s wonderful restaurants, enjoy some free time before returning to the ship in Vega de Terrón!

Friday, 10/10

Today visit the small town of Castelo Rodrigo, a medieval walled city with a parish church that dates back to the 12th century. This evening we visit the Vintage House Hotel, an 18th century mansion overlooking the Douro River, where we’ll have a delicious, hearty dinner.


Saturday, 10/11

Our featured excursion today is the Mateus Palace and Gardens. It’s a perfect example of baroque architecture, with an impressive façade made up of beautiful pinnacles on the roof and an ornate stairway, all reflected in a pond in front. The gardens are among the most beautiful in Europe, with a tunnel of cypress tress shading the path.


Sunday, 10/12

Disembark the ship and transfer to the Porto airport for your flight home!
