Co-Owners

Geof Landis is co-owner of Menno Travel, and has been with Menno Travel since 1982. He is a Certified Travel Counselor (CTC), and began his career as a travel counselor in the vacation department. He is responsible for managing the Corporate Department as well as sales and support of corporate accounts. Geof is active on the boards of United Way of Elkhart County and the Goshen Chambr of Commerce and is the President of the Goshen Youth Soccer Organization.

Doug Risser is co-owner of Menno Travel, where he has been employed since 1972, starting as a travel counselor. He is a Certified Travel Counselor (CTC), Certified Travel Industry Executive (CTIE), and a Master Cruise Counselor (MCC). Doug is responsible for oversight of the group and accounting departments. He is an active member of the Elkhart Rotary Club and is the Rotary District Chairman for Group Study Exchange (GSE). Doug was the GSE Team Leader to Brazil in 2006.

Vacation Department Staff

Dorothy Shirk joined Menno Travel in March of 1986 and is a Certified Tour Professional (CTP). She is the Vacation Department Manager responsible for the staff and supplier relationships. She is also the Director of Marketing responsible for advertising, promotional materials and newsletters. Dorothy is active in Goshen Noon Kiwanis.

Sondra Pressler started her travel career in 1998 and came to Menno Travel in 2004. She has a college degree in Travel and Hospitality Management and is a Destination Specialist for Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean, and Mexico. She is a Certified Sandals Specialist and has completed several cruise specialist classes and enjoys planning any type of vacation. She has traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, London and several Caribbean Cruises.

Kami Heckaman joined Menno Travel in 1996 after beginning a career in travel in the late 1980′s. She specializes in planning honeymoons, destination weddings and family vacations.  Kami is a Certified Sandals Specialist  and a Destination Specialist for Europe, Mexico, Central America, and Hawaii. She especially enjoyed her trips to Mexico and Hawaii.

Tricia Irvin graduated from Indiana Travel Academy in 1998 and began her career in travel planning vacations. She joined Menno Travel in 2005, and is as Certified Sandals Specialist and a Destination Specialist for Las Vegas. She has completed the cruise courses for Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean. She particularly enjoys planning honeymoons, cruises and family get-a-ways.

Karen Badorek attended Indiana Travel Academy and has been a travel agent since 1989. She joined Menno Travel in 1996 and is a Certified Sandals Specialist and a Destination Specialist for Mexico, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. She has traveled extensively in Europe and her favorite trip was a Rhine River Cruise. Her favorite destination is Tahiti.

Maggie Lewallen has been a travel agent with Menno Travel since 1993. She is a Certified Travel Associate (CTA), Accredited Cruise Counselor (ACC), Certified Sandals Specialist and a Destination Specialist for the Caribbean, Pacific Rim and Western Europe.  Her favorite trip was to Ireland.

Business Department Staff

Deb Mangas is a Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) and an Accredited Cruise Counselor (ACC). She began her travel career in 1975 before coming to Menno Travel in 1992. Deb is the Business Development Manager, responsible for growing corporate business and servicing current corporate accounts. She is active in the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) as a chapter board member and is on several national committees. Some of her favorite destinations are China, Greece, Arizona and Alaska.

Debi Riegsecker joined Menno Travel in 1987 as a corporate travel agent, but began her travel career in 1982. She is a Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) with extensive expertise in planning all aspects of corporate travel. A seasoned traveler, Debi’s travels have taken her around the world, including the Czech Republic, Romania, Peru, the Orient, and Alaska.

Humanitarian / Mission / Student Travel Staff

Dee Suski has been in the travel industry since 1995 and joing Menno Travel in 2001. She graduated from Davenport College with a concentration in Travel & Tourism and handles mission and humanitarian travel as well as complicated international itineraries.  Dee’s travel experience includes trips to Ethiopia, Mexico, France, Israel, Turkey and numerous Caribbean cruises.

Ron Yoder joined Menno Travel in 1982 and is skilled at handling complicated international travel, consolidator and bulk fares. Since 2006, Ron works remotely from his home in Texas. He has extensive travel experience to destinations such as Togo, Malaysia, Honduras, Bolivia, Europe and England.

Tara Nisley began working at Menno Travel Service in 1995 and works mainly from her home office. Tara is a Certified Travel Associate (CTA) and Accredited Cruise Counselor (ACC) and specializes in International Group Travel. Her travels have taken her to many destinations, but her favorite trips were to Switzerland as part of the Swiss Mennonite Heritage Tour, and a Mediterranean Cruise.

Incentive Travel Department Staff

Mary Ann Holderman is a Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) and began her career in travel in 1980 at Menno Travel. She opened Adventure Travel in 1986 and sold it in 2005 when she returned to Menno Travel, specializing in Group and Corporate Incentive Travel. She is a member of the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives (SITE) and has traveled to 26 countries and enjoys exploring new destinations. Mary Ann is active in the Boys and Girls Club in Goshen.

Maureen Russell joined Menno Travel in 1998 and is an Accredited Cruise Counselor (ACC).  She plans and organizes Corporate Incentive Travel, domestic and international groups, and has extensive experience handling cruise groups of all sizes and all-inclusive packages. Maureen has traveled to many destinations including numerous cruises to the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, Paris, Hawaii, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico.

Sue Moneyheffer has been with Menno Travel since 2006. She has extensive experience in public accounting and handles the company’s financial reporting as well as the payroll and employee benefits for the employees and numerous independent travel agents. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Karen Roberts works in our Sales Assistance Center (SAC) answering phones and directing walk-in clients. She also handles foreign currency exchange sales, passport photos, shipping, office supplies ordering and document processing.

Technology Staff

Kendal Sommers joined Menno Travel in 1994 as a corporate travel agent. He is the technology manager responsible for the operation of the airline reservation system, computer network and phone system within our office. In addition, Kendal manages staff training relating to all automation systems.

Brandon Rassler has been the Technology Associate at Menno Travel since 2000. He has received training on Internet service providers and computer repair and is experienced with network design, installation and security. His responsibilities include the website and network administration.
