American Express® Consumer Card Benefits Terms & Conditions
1. A Qualifying Vacation is a purchase of $3,000 or more per booking offered by a cruise or vacation package operator & purchased through a participating American Express Travel Services location in the U.S. Benefit does not include independent air, hotel, or car rental reservations. American Express Cardmembers eligible to receive a $100 statement credit for qualifying vacations of $3,000 or more. Benefit only available to Cardmembers in good standing & one time per Card account per calendar year (regardless of the number of qualifying vacations booked or the number of Additional Cards on the account). Annual Travel Benefit is considered redeemed in the calendar year in which final payment is made on the qualifying vacation. Cardmembers having multiple accounts may only redeem one Annual Travel Benefit per vacation booking. Both deposit and final payment must be made on an American Express® Card. Credit will be posted to Cardmember’s account 10-14 business days after date of final payment. Cardmember agrees account may be debited $100 if vacation is canceled for any reason and the purchase price (less any applicable cancellation fees or penalties) is credited to the account. All amounts in terms & conditions are U.S. Dollars. American Express reserves the right to withdraw or alter this benefit at anytime without advance notice. The Platinum Card® member must be traveling. Name on ticket must match name on Platinum Card. The Platinum member must be 18 years of age to enter the Airport Club Lounge without a parent or guardian for American Airlines Admirals Club® lounges. For Delta Sky Club™ lounges the member must be 18 where there is no self-service bar. The Platinum member must be 21 years of age to enter into all Airport Club Lounges where there is a self-service bar. Local age restrictions apply in non-U.S. locations. The Platinum member’s spouse and children under the age of 21 or up to two companions may enter the club as complimentary guests. Code-share and affiliated lounge agreements may not apply. Employee travel-related benefit tickets are not eligible with American Airlines. The Platinum Card member must present his or her valid Card, government-issued I.D., and same day airline ticket to club agents. Complimentary access is specifically for the airport club that corresponds to the airline operating the flight (access pertains to the aircraft, not the flight number) except with respect to American Airlines marketed code share flights with an American Airlines flight number which are also eligible for complimentary access to the lounge. Meeting rooms may be reserved for a nominal fee. Card members must adhere to all house rules of participating clubs. For a list of participating airport club locations, call Platinum Member Services. Cruise Privileges Program valid for new bookings of voyages of five nights/six days or longer made through American Express Travel by 12/31/10 for sailings completed by 12/31/11. May not be combined with group promotions or offers, including American Express Mariner Club, unless otherwise indicated. Blackout dates, category and fare restrictions may apply. U.S. Platinum Card member must travel on itinerary booked. Shipboard credit and provider amenity based on double occupancy. Shipboard credit cannot be used in the casino or for payment of gratuities, is non-transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash or credit and cannot be combined with other shipboard credit offers. Limit one shipboard credit and provider amenity per stateroom. Three-stateroom limit per Card member, per sailing. Payment must be made with an American Express Card in the Platinum Card member’s name. To receive Cruise Privileges Program benefits, travel agencies must call American Express Agency Services Desk: 800-428-0250, option #2. Participating program providers and benefits are subject to change without notice. 8. Based on double occupancy. Actual value varies by property, length and date of stay. To receive FINE HOTELS & RESORTS program (FHR) amenities and rates, book FHR-negotiated rates and room categories through American Express Travel-affiliated agency. Payment must be made with an American Express Card in the U.S. Platinum Card member’s name. Room upgrade based on availability. Offer may not be combined with Platinum Destinations® Vacations. Limit one amenity per room, per stay. Amenity restrictions vary by hotel, are subject to change, and cannot be redeemed for cash. Platinum members may book up to three (3) rooms inclusive of FHR rates and amenities and must accompany the party as a guest for which FHR reservations are made. In the event the Platinum member cancels the reservation(s), FHR rates and amenities will no longer apply to any remaining reservation(s). Back-to-back stays within a 24-hour period at a single FHR property are considered one stay. While the many Global Assist Hotline coordination and assistance services are free benefits from American Express, Cardmembers are responsible for the costs charged by third-party service providers. 10. International Airline Program: Companion ticket requires purchase of qualifying, First- or Business-Class ticket through American Express Travel Services with an American Express® Card issued in the U.S. Platinum Card member’s name on a participating airline. Participating airlines include: Aer Lingus, AeroMexico, Air France, Air New Zealand, Alitalia, Asiana Airlines, Austrian, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Japan Airlines, Jet Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, LAN, Lufthansa, Mexicana, Scandinavian Airlines, South African Airways, Swiss International Air lines, Virgin Atlantic. Travel must originate in and return to a U.S. gateway (excluding Puerto Rico and overseas territories) or Canadian gateway. One-way travel permitted on some participating airlines where routing originates in U.S. Travel must be completed by 12/31/10. Available service class (First or Business) determined by participating airline. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights. Card member and companion must travel on the same itinerary. Non-refundable $78 American Express service fee applies to purchase and all ticket changes/refunds with Platinum Card. Companion ticket subject to government taxes/fees from $50 to $300 roundtrip, including a September 11th Security fee of up to $10. Total charge for the companion ticket may also reflect airline imposed fuel surcharges of up to $300 roundtrip. Companion ticket must be returned/cancelled before full-fare ticket is refunded. Not combinable with any other promotion, discount, negotiated group, or corporate-contracted rate, and may not be available on participating airline’s code-share partners, i.e. flights marketed by the ticketing airline but operated by its partner airline. Participating airlines reserve right to modify fare rules/program participation prior to booking. Limit one companion ticket per Card member traveling. Tickets are not transferable or endorsable. Airline fuel surcharges and certain government imposed taxes and fees on international air transportation, as well as applicable companion ticketing fees, are the responsibility of the Card member. 11. There is typically no cost for the effort Concierge consultants perform on your behalf, although you are responsible for any purchases and/or shipping charges you authorize. Fees may apply for meetings and event planning. 12. Valid for new bookings made through an American Express Travel-affiliated agency by 12/31/10 for travel completed by 12/31/11. May not be combined with other offers, including the FINE HOTELS & RESORTS and Destination Collection® programs.
